DHS Engineering - Capabilities/Test

As a capable, flexible, and efficient research and development laboratory, DHSE has the tools and expertise to conduct a wide range of experimental testing. The wide range of capability allows us to test and develop low-voltage single cells through high-voltage battery packs:

  • Voltage range: 100 mV to 1000 V
  • Current range: 100 mA to 1000 A
  • Frequency range: 10 mHz to many MHz
  • Logging periods: 1 ms to many weeks (e.g. hydrogen combustion vs. battery self-discharge)
  • Temperature range: -73 ºC to +190 ºC (-100 ºF to +375 ºF)
  • Half-cell voltage to independently measure the positive and negative electrodes
  • Teardown and failure analysis of cells
